WMS Foundation Centennial Scholarship Fund
In 2003 the Wyoming Medical Society established the Centennial Scholarship Fund in an effort to financially aid and recognize outstanding Wyoming students in the WWAMI medical education program. WMS set a goal to raise $50,000 by June 2007 to draw matching state funds to create a $100,000 endowment for scholarships. That goal was exceeded in February of 2007 and the state of Wyoming matched the raised funds dollar for dollar. WMS is proud of this scholarship and believes that it sent a clear message that the Wyoming medical community is fighting to brighten the future of Wyoming medicine.
2007 marked the first year WMS was able to celebrate the success of the Centennial Scholarship fund by awarding the first scholarship award to an outstanding student in the E-06 WWAMI class. Since then, the scholarship has awarded nearly ten more scholarships to outstanding first-year students and exceptional WWAMI graduates.
