The Wyoming Medical Society (WMS) is staffed by professionals dedicated to helping physicians help patients. Our main goal is to serve physician members by providing support and resources to help them in their practice of medicine.
Sheila Bush
Executive Director
Sheila Bush is the executive director for the Wyoming Medical Society and is responsible for the overall management of WMS and its staff. She provides support to the WMS Board of Trustees, serves as the chief lobbyist and advocate for Wyoming’s physician voice, and never hesitates to help physicians across WY whenever and wherever she is needed. She is the founder and publisher of Wyoming Medicine magazine and the founder of the Wyoming Leaders in Medicine physician leadership program. She is a graduate of the University of Wyoming, and is highly involved in her local community. Sheila serves on numerous boards in healthcare, policy and the arts, and has been recognized by several organizations for her outstanding leadership service. On weekends you will find Sheila camping, skiing or traveling with her husband and two boys. With over two decades in advocacy, Sheila Bush has demonstrated her commitment and dedication to physician interests, and is available for any member regardless of need.
Chelsea Cortez
Deputy Director
Chelsea brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge to WMS, most recently serving as the Executive Director for multiple regulatory and advisory Boards for the State of Wyoming. In these roles, she developed a passion for fostering strong relationships and using her inquisitive nature to improve processes for the groups being served. Chelsea and her husband, Matt, are lifelong Wyoming residents who love raising their family here. Outside of work, you will often find Chelsea traveling throughout Wyoming and Colorado being a wildly proud sports mom or enjoying summertime at the lake.
Murphy Booth
Finance CONSULTANT
Murphy Booth started her journey supporting the Wyoming Medical Society and our members in 2025. In her short time with WMS, she’s proven to be invaluable to the organization’s success, bringing her passion for small organization systems and individual support to her work for the Society. Murphy works to support the specialty societies within the family of organized medicine and facilitates the details of accounting and bookkeeping to keep our organization in keeping with all regulations and requirements for Wyoming nonprofits. If you haven’t had a chance to meet Murphy yet, you’re in for a treat.
