The Wyoming Medical Society (WMS) is staffed by professionals dedicated to helping physicians help patients. Our main goal is to serve physician members by providing support and resources to help them in their practice of medicine.
Sheila Bush is the executive director for the Wyoming Medical Society and is responsible for the overall management of WMS and its staff. She provides staff support to the Board of Trustees, serves as the chief lobbyist and advocate for Wyoming’s physician voice, and provides administrative services for the organization. She is a graduate of the University of Wyoming. With over 13 years in advocacy, 12 of those with WMS, Sheila Bush has demonstrated her commitment and dedication to physician interests, and is available for any member regardless of need.
Membership and Finance Director
Maria Cowley has served the Board of Trustees and members for over 12 years. She provides membership and financial support for the Wyoming Medical Society and several specialty societies. She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Wyoming. Maria has previous accounting and management experience working for KPMG Accounting firm, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Rose Medical Center and Trilegiant Corporation. Whitney Harmon is responsible for developing marketing and communication strategies, PR campaigns, and the WMS web presence. She also takes part in planning the Wyoming Medical Society Annual Meeting and the Wyoming Leaders in Medicine program. She handles membership communication and the Friends of WMS/Preferred Vendor contracts. Whitney completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Wyoming and her graduate degree at the University of Alabama. Kandice Hansen is the Owner and Managing Director of InKandescent Concepts, LLC, based in Cheyenne, WY. She serves as the Managing Editor of the award-winning Wyoming Medicine magazine and offers support to Wyoming-centric medical specialty and county societies. Kandice earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Wyoming, where she developed strong talents in graphic design, journalism, grant administration and project management. She has previous experience at the Wyoming Office of the Attorney General as well as in the non-profit sector in Northern Colorado.
