WMS members are encouraged to participate in policy conversations on THE WIRE, our interactive tool for members to suggest, vote, and comment on proposals – anytime and anywhere. Our voice is strongest when ALL of our members are actively engaged in policy discussions that impact their ability to practice medicine in Wyoming.

The Wyoming Medical Society (WMS) is proud of the advocacy work we do with some of the state’s most respected advocates – but YOU, our members, are the most powerful voice for healthcare and your patients. Your unique understanding of medicine and the state’s healthcare infrastructure is essential for informing our policy, legislation and regulations.

The WMS Board of Trustees sets advisory opinions that guide the critical work of the WMS advocacy team. However, our new process puts our members in the driver’s seat, determining which issues receive the highest level of attention during each session.

To elevate a bill, monitor the WMS Legislative Tracker.  If you find a bill deserving of focused advocacy, contact the WMS staff or draft a proposal for a vote. A simple majority vote of 20% of our members activates the WMS lobbying team’s public-facing advocacy work. You don’t need to be a political or policy expert to make an impact – WMS is here to provide support and ensure every voice within our diverse membership is included in Wyoming’s lawmaking process.
