McGinley takes over for Paul Johnson, MD, a Cheyenne otolaryngologist who served as president of WMS for the past year. McGinley will take the helm of the WMS Board of Trustees after serving as the organization’s vice president a year ago. McGinley is a radiologist at Casper Medical Imagine in Casper, founder of McGinley Orthopedic Innovations, and has been on the WMS Board of Trustees since 2013.

“It has been a privilege serving on the WMS board as a trustee and officer,” McGinley said. “The society has tremendous potential to advance the practice of medicine in Wyoming.”

In addition to McGinley, WMS members also elected Lisa Finkelstein, DO, as the organization’s vice president, David Wheeler, MD, PhD, as its Secretary/Treasurer, and Betsy Spomer, MD, as its new open trustee. Rounding out the Board of Trustee’s executive committee is Past Board of Trustees President Paul Johnson, MD, as well as AMA Delegate Stephen Brown, MD, MBA, and Robert Monger, MD, the AMA Alternate Delegate.

Finkelstein is a urologist from Jackson who has been on the WMS Board of Trustees since 2011. Currently, she serves as the secretary/treasurer of the WMS. Wheeler, who practices at Wyoming Neurologic Associates in Casper moves into the position of secretary/treasurer after spending the last year in the position of WMS Open Trustee. Spomer joins the Board of Trustees for the first time in July and works in a variety of roles, including as a physician with the Express Care Clinic in Powell, as an adjunct faculty member for the WWAMI program, and as a life coach specializing in working with healthcare professionals.

“We greatly appreciate all that our physician volunteers do to lead WMS and the policies that guide it,” said WMS Executive Director Sheila Bush. “I also want to offer a huge thank you to Dr. Paul Johnson for his steady leadership as board president last year. We are lucky to have him with us for one more year on the executive board. I also need to thank Dr. Sigsbee Duck for his service on our executive board over the last several years. We will dearly miss his voice and perspectives on the WMS Executive Committee in the coming year.”
